How do I get there ?

The actual address will probably not be in your GPS unit. The intersection at the northeast corner of the farm is
Saddleclub Road
and
Log Cabin Lane
Bonnie, IL
(or Opdyke or Belle Rive depending on your GPS unit)

From I-57 go east on I-64 at exit 92. Get off at exit 80 and take Illinois Highway 37 south 4 miles to County Road 600N also known as Saddle Club Road. Go east almost 5 miles and turn right in the drive at Grandpa Robert's

Ideas for 2008

We've been tossing around ideas. Feel free to email me your ideas or add them as comments. Here are some of the ideas that have been lobbed up in the air:

  • Make a reunion geocache ( For an article about it see http://www.greenriverstar.com/articles/2007/08/22/people/people1.txt )
  • For the auction everyone should make up a basket of items from their home area. For instance we from the West Union area might include a Moonshine Store coffee cup, a bottle of Mullens dressing, and a Heath bar.
  • Roast a pig. OK, so the vegetarians among us didn't bring this one up. And I see logistical problems. But it's an idea so let's throw it against the wall and see if it sticks.
  • What is your idea? Let me know and I'll put it here.

you could have a nertz tournament, or a scavenger hunt, or a marshmallow roast. You could bury a pig and roast it that way. always wanted to try that.
