So sorry ---Fred Bumpus passed away this evening about an hour ago. Sally is on her way from Indianapolis--pray for her as she travels and for Sue in the next few days.

Kristina Elledge Vaughan (Kathryn's daughter) posted a photo of her granddaughter Brooklyn Nicole, born 12/13/12. She would be Neal's great-great granddaughter.

 

Carolyn Bumpus

D. Carolyn Bumpus was born January 10, 1931 in Greenfield, Tennessee the daughter of Ernest and Odra (Dunlap) Gilliam. Carolyn died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was 81 years of age.

The former Miss Dorthy Carolyn Gilliam married Bill Bumpus on June 22, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Broken Arrow from Wisconsin in 2003. Carolyn was in sales, having been employed with Stanley Home Products for over 30 years and she had also sold Travel Trailers. She was a people person that enjoyed camping and volunteer work. She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 7815 S. Elm Pl., Broken Arrow, OK 74011.

She is survived by,

Daughters, Cynthia and husband Peter Barnett, Broken Arrow, OK
Karen and husband Jeff Battani, Waterford, WI

Sons, David Bumpus, Milwaukee, WI

Robert and wife Lori Bumpus, Amboy, IL

Grandchildren, Rebecca, Megan, Christopher, Sarah, Emily, Jake, Amanda,
Dane, Erin
13 Great Grandchildren

Sister, Linda and husband Gary Waldon, Waterloo, IA

She was preceded in death by grandson, Casey, brothers, James and
Richard and sister, Betty.

Neal's already working on recipes for next year

2012 is in the book

2012 will be remembered as the year of the drought ... that it rained all weekend.  Friday evening about 5 PM it rained. Saturday morning it rained.  Saturday night it rained.  It was GREAT! There was no fire hazard, the temperature was as close to perfect as it has been all summer.  Family members came from all across the country to be there.  We had some first timer's like Neal
